Osasuna’s ‘uncomfortable contrast’

Espanyol boss Mauricio Pochettino has warned that Saturday's opponents Osasuna have the capacity to make you suffer.

The Parakeets host Los Rojillos in Barcelona tomorrow with the hosts aiming to climb out of the relegation zone and the visitors simply desperate not to get cut off at the bottom of the League.

“We have positive feelings, as the victory against Real Sociedad revitalised the group,” began the Argentine at a Press conference, before discussing Osasuna's physical style of play.

“It's an uncomfortable contrast. We know we'll have to match their intensity. We're going to suffer.

“In the world there are very few teams that can maintain a high energy game for 90 minutes. The ultimate goal is the result, we have to score points and be higher up the League.”

Pochettino finished by fielding questions on the exclusion of Sergio Tejera from his squad and the chances of Samuele Longo featuring.

“It's a technical decision. You have to find balance in the squad, and it's also a numerical question. There are people who must wait for their chance.

“Longo has had some trouble, but he trained well today.”
