Experimental Spain for Panama

Juan Mata, Benat Etxebarria, Roberto Soldado, Markel Susaeta and Martin Montoya are the notable inclusions in Spain’s experimental squad for midweek.

La Roja face a long trip out to Panama this midweek and for it Vicente del Bosque has named a weakened 19-man squad.

Mata returns to La Seleccion after missing the October qualifiers against Belarus and France, and he is joined by Real Betis’ Benat, who returns after making his debut in May of this year.

Under-21 regular Montoya is promoted once more to the senior squad for this friendly and is joined by another as-yet-uncapped player in former Under-21 Susaeta, Athletic Bilbao’s versatile wide player.

Fernando Torres, David Silva, Xavi Hernandez, Xabi Alonso and fit-again Gerard Pique are among the notable absentees for the 5000-mile journey.
