Garcia sees Betis as changed

Luis Garcia Plaza hopes that his Getafe can maintain their recent form in welcoming Real Betis on Monday night, but is wary of the opponents.

The closing fixture for Week 10 sees the Madrid side host their Andalucian rivals with both sides in good form.

“It is true that Betis have changed a little. They are no longer so open. Sometimes they play more direct and that is not a criticism,” reflected Garcia in today’s pre-match Press conference.

“I don’t think they will sit back and defend, they will come to attack, they have important players. If we believe that we are doing well then so can they, they are sixth.

“They have Benat, an international, Ruben Castro, who is one of the best in the League in his position. To win, we will have to do things right.”

Out of this respect, Garcia admits that Getafe will have to work hard to maintain their own recent run of results that lists four wins from the last five across League and Cup.

“We are in good form and we do not have to push or draw back. We do have to work like anyone to keep getting results. Everyone has put in a tremendous commitment.

“I do not think this will be a game like against Levante, who let us have the ball all the time. There will be phases and phases.

“We have won four of five and must not drop in performance. We have to be optimistic, but aware that to win games we must work hard.

“We have to follow that line of humility. What matters is today, tomorrow and the past do not matter, only the present.”
