Pinto desperate to prove his worth

Deportivo de La Coruna defender Tiago Pinto has claimed he will show his worth if selected for the Copa del Rey match against Real Mallorca.

The Portuguese left-back is yet to play a game for the Turcos this season, having joined the club on-loan from Rio Ave in the summer.

But the 24-year-old has reassured his Coach and the fans that he will become a star turn if given an opportunity.

“I have really wanted to play,” he told a Press conference. “The fans have not seen what I can do, and I am desperate to show my value to the team.

“In every game I play I will do the best I can, to prove I can play in all competitions. I came here to help the club, but I do not know if I am in the third, second or first team. I want to play to prove I'm the best.

“The cup is a great opportunity for those looking to prove a point. If I get picked for Thursday I will try and have the game of my life.”

Jose Luis Oltra's side host Real Mallorca at the Riazor, kick off at 20.00 BST.
