Guardiola, Del Bosque Ballon d’Or nod

Spain boss Vicente del Bosque and former Barcelona Coach Pep Guardiola are amongst the contenders for the Ballon d'or Coach award.

The duo are included in a 10 man shortlist announced today. The two Spaniards are accompanied on the list by three Germans, three Italians, a Scotsman and a Portuguese – Real Madrid Coach Jose Mourinho.

Del Bosque led Spain to victory at Euro 2012 last summer, their third major tournament spin in succession and the second under his stewardship.

Guardiola left Barcelona last summer after winning the Copa del Rey but narrowly missing out in the other major competitions, losing to Chelsea in the Champions League semi-finals and being pipped to the La Liga title by Mourinho's Real. He is the current holder of the award.
