Getafe won’t change strikers

Luis Garcia Plaza has rejected putting pressure on his mis-firing strike-force and insists that he won’t be turning to Daniel Guiza anytime soon.

Getafe are the only team in the Division not to have seen one of its strikers score a goal this season, but Plaza, in talking to AS in an interview published today, insists that it won’t be changing his plans.

“For now we will continue believing in Paco, Alvaro and Colunga. We want to be relaxed. If you expect a player to score 15 goals a season, here that is not going to happen,” he reflected.

“Guiza was the top scorer from the past, but last year his numbers were not there either. We have many players who can score six goals, but none who can get more than 15. Guiza [pictured], for the moment, will not play.”

The Madrid outfit travel out to the Basque Country this Sunday to face Athletic Bilbao.

“We must be on top. They will not play similarly to Levante [last weekend], they will not give us the ball, we will have to tighten up,” he reiterated from yesterday.
