Referee accuses Sociedad Coach

Referee Miguel Ayza Gamez has accused Real Sociedad assistant boss Michel Troin of calling him an ‘assassin’, according to Marca.

The allegation comes after La Real lost to Atletico Madrid at Anoeta last weekend, after which Sociedad Coach Philippe Montanier blamed Gamez for his team’s 1-0 defeat to Radamel Falcao’s stoppage time free-kick.

However, Gamez alleged that Frenchman Troin directed the French expression ‘assassin nous’ towards him during the game, which translates as ‘you have killed us’, although the San Sebastian club have written to the Spanish Football Federation to try and clear the matter up.

The Basques claim Montanier’s assistant hardly knows any Spanish and the expression is normal in France, where it is used to indicate to the official that he has made an error with one of his decisions.

The Txuri-urdin are hopeful the Federation  will understand that it was only a problem in communication and that Troin will not incur a heavy sanction for his actions.
