‘Malaga will be tired for Espanyol’

Sergio Garcia believes that Espanyol have a chance for a second successive win next weekend when they welcome a Malaga side he says will be ‘weary’.

The Costa del Sol side travel north to Catalonia this weekend, but only after midweek participation in the Champions League against Milan.

For Garcia, who helped his Espanyol side win their first game of the season last weekend at home to Rayo Vallecano, Malaga will be out of sorts by the time they face them.

“The team is feeling good after the win against Rayo, whilst Malaga have a tough game in the Champions League,” enthused the 29-year-old today.

“They will be weary and we will have to take advantage of that and make them even wearier.

“We have been playing well, despite the League table, it is a pity we have not been lucky in some games, but we must continue this form now and try to keep adding points in threes.

“Malaga will be putting a lot into the Champions League and we have to seize our chance, to see if they are tired.

“Whenever you have a midweek game you are always a little weaker.”
