Garcia Plaza highlights Martins

Getafe Coach Luis Garcia Plaza sees Levante striker Obafemi Martins as the biggest threat to his side getting their third straight win.

The Azulones, who defeated Real Mallorca and Real Zaragoza before the international break, take on the Granotes at the Coliseum Alfonso Perez at midday on Sunday. It's a particularly significant encounter for Garcia Plaza personally, as he left Levante to take the Getafe job just over a year ago.

“Levante are a team that is competing in Europe, they have their weapons and really believe in what they do,” he noted at a press conference.

“Above all they have Martins, a sprinter. Look at their recent goals. Against Real [Sociedad], [Sergio] Ballesteros interception, long pass, Martins goal. Against Valencia, Munua interception, long pass, Martins goal. This football is simple but extremely effective.”

Garcia Plaza confessed his admiration for former charge Ballesteros, who might miss Sunday's match after a bout of colic.

“It's hard for him not to play, he has to be in the ICU not to play! He continues contributing much.

“Putting ourselves on 13 points would be a big number. If we win, we'll be sixth or seventh.”
