Spain qualify for Euro Championship

Spain Under-21's have successfully qualified for the 2013 European Championships having beaten Denmark in a two-legged play-off.

La Roja defeated the Danes' 3-1 at Aalborg Stadion on Tuesday, as two second half goals from Alvaro Vazquez, and an Iker Muniani strike gave Julen Lopetegui's team a comfortable 8-1 aggregate win.

Having won the first leg in Burgos 5-0, qualification was never really in doubt, but the Athletic Bilbao midfielder and Getafe's 21-year-old forward made sure the visitors' went through to the tournament in Israel as clear favourites.

England, Italy, Germany Norway, Russia and Netherlands will join Spain and the hosts' next year, with the group stage draw on November 28.
