Bartra out of Denmark clash

Barcelona defender Marc Bartra will miss Spain Under-21’s second-leg play-off clash with Denmark in Aalborg.

Bartra is suffering from testicular inflammation and the discomfort is understood to have prevented him from walking normally, forcing the national team doctor to send him for tests to discover the extent of the injury.

According to AS, the player’s medical report indicates he has ‘post-traumatic inflammation of the testicle’ and his place alongside Inigo Martinez at the heart of the Spanish defence will be taken either by Nacho or Jordi Amat.

Julen Lopetegui’s youngsters should have no trouble in qualifying for the European Championship finals in Israel next year, having disposed of the Danes 5-0 in the first leg in Burgos last week.
