‘I will fight to keep Trochowski out’

Sevilla forward Manu del Moral has admitted that the injury suffered by teammate Piotr Trochowski could be good news personally.

The Germany international may be out for up to four months with knee ligament damage, and the 28-year-old has conceded that, although unfortunate for the team, it could be his ticket to a regular place in the side.

“It is a shame when a temmates gets injured,” he told Sevilla's official website. “But I will work everyday and take what minutes [Coach] Michel gives me. I will work hard and try to hold on to my place and add to the team.

“It is difficult for Trochowski, because the injury is a lot worse than everyone initially though, but he is a hard worker, and I'm sure, with all our support, will get through it.”

He also commented on Los Rojiblancos' recent 2-0 loss to Celta Vigo, and how the efforts being made to climb up the League table.

“We are looking forward to the next game [against Mallorca], and to forget the memory of Celta Vigo. The team knows what it wants, and we have to be hopeful.

“We have done many positive things, and that's what gives us confidence. Throughout the year there is always going to be games like the last one, but we will try to not let that happen again.”
