Iniesta on the bench in Minsk?

Andres Iniesta looks as though he will have to be content with a place on the bench against Belarus in Minsk on Friday night.

Spain national coach Vicente Del Bosque let slip at a Press conference before La Roja’s second World Cup 2014 qualifier that the Barcelona man would probably be saved for Tuesday’s game with France at the Vicente Calderon.

“We’ve been thinking about the game against the French and Iniesta’s situation is a little bit special. It’s likely could he play both matches but we need to pay special attention to him, because he arrived here with a muscle strain,” Del Bosque told reporters.

“We've got players in the squad who can step in for him perfectly and this is not just a whim.

“We understand that for him it might be more advisable to not play at all for the 180 minutes, but he will play in both games whether they are going well or badly. He is a special case.”
