Athletic Bilbao’s website has confirmed that striker Gaizka Toquero has penned a new deal at San Mames.
The 28-year-old has been with the Basques since 2008, having spent the earlier part of his career with Deportivo Alaves, Lemona and Sestao, and has extended his contract with the club until June 30, 2016.
Initially sent out on loan to Eibar, the Vitoria-born player returned to Bilbao and was handed the No 2 jersey, the only one available at the time, and has since been a regular in the side, scoring 20 goals in 119 La Liga appearances.
The rescission clause in Toquero’s contract has been set at €25m.
