Casillas’ French gaffe

Iker Casillas has caused a stir in training today with the Spain squad by turning up wearing a France top.

The ‘keeper is with La Roja during this international week for fixtures against Belarus and the Les Bleus as part of the UEFA Group I qualifying section for the 2014 World Cup.

However, as the media outlets in Spain are starting to report and as the above image shows [Marca], the Real Madrid man has drawn attention to himself with his choice of shirt worn to practice today.

Casillas notably performed well against the French during the summer when Spain defeated them in the quarter-finals of Euro 2012, a tournament that also saw Casillas become the first player to reach 100 wins at international level.

The 31-year-old goalkeeper is Spain’s most-capped player in history with 140 appearances to his name and he currently holds the armband as the team’s captain.
