Timor: Osasuna loss undeserved

Osasuna midfielder David Timor feels his side deserved a draw from yesterday's 1-0 derby defeat to Athletic Bilbao.

The Pamplona outfit fell to a narrow 1-0 defeat at San Mames, Aritz Aduriz's early goal deciding the Basque-Navarre clash.

“Yesterday I think we deserved a draw,” the 22-year-old is quoted as saying by Marca. “They created chances but it was when we were trying to get back into it.

“It was close and we deserved a draw.”

Jose Luis Mendilibar's side are 19th in La Liga with just four points from seven games, and already looking beyond the international break.

“As with the last international break we have been defeated, and have two weeks to turn things around,” the Valencia youth product added. “We are already thinking about Real Betis.”

Timor is happy with his own form and the faith showed in him by Mendilibar.

“The Coach is giving me confidence and I try to give it back on the field. The downside is the results, which are not going for us.

“The Levante 'keeper saved two of my shots, and yesterday I hit the post. Sometimes the ball does not want to go in.”

The youngster made a rude gesture towards the Osasuna fans after the 4-0 win over Levante, an act he regrets.

“I assume responsibility, and I apologise again. The fans did not deserve that gesture, but its over.”
