Portugal's team doctor is confident Real Madrid stars Cristiano Ronaldo and Pepe will be available against Russia.
Paulo Bento's Portuguese take on Fabio Capello's Russians this Friday in Moscow, in a top-of-table clash between the frontrunners in World Cup qualification Group F.
Initially it seemed the shoulder injury Ronaldo sustained in last night's 2-2 draw with Barcelona at Camp Nou would stop him travelling, but the winger joined up with his international teammates when tests showed the damage was not as severe as first thought.
“We will do everything possible to recover Cristiano, and we believe that he can recover,” Henrique Jones told AS.
“But we will have to manage his training based on daily observation.”
Centre back Pepe has issues with his left thigh.
“His situation also requires care,”Jones added. “But in principle, he should also be able to play in Moscow.”
