Mauricio Pellegrino believes that his Valencia side were the better team in the derby against Levante, but that they paid for their mistakes.
Los Che fell 1-0 in the lunchtime derby away to their city rivals thanks to Obafemi Martins’ goal, but their Coach felt the result was unjust.
“I think that the first half belonged to us, but we did not convert our chances and they took advantage of theirs,” Pellegrino admitted after the game.
“After the goal, the game was played as Levante wanted it and we made mistakes. My team failed to break through the difficulties encountered.
“What happened is that we made a mistake as we had in Mallorca and it cost us dearly.”
