Adrian: Betis start a dream

Adrian has reflected on ending a difficult period of injury by making his first start for Real Betis last night.

The 25-year-old made his senior debut for the team from the bench in last weekend’s 4-0 defeat at Malaga, after first-choice Casto’s red card.

Yesterday saw Adrian then make his first start for Los Beticos, as they won 2-0 over Real Sociedad.

The youngster reflected on occasion, which marked the end of a difficult recovery for him from an anterior cruciate ligament injury suffered last season.

“It was like a dream come true, to debut at home with a win and finish with a clean sheet,” admitted the ‘keeper today.

“Last year was tough with the injury, but I am determined and kept going, I kept training and I knew that if I had my chance that no-one could beat me. Things have gone well and we have another three points at home, which is most important.”
