Javier Mascherano says Barcelona will miss Carles Puyol after he suffered a dislocated elbow in the Champions League win over Benfica.
Puyol was carried off in the 75th minute of the 2-0 victory after landing awkwardly and former Liverpool player Mascherano believes he will be a great loss to Tito Vilanova’s side.
“I don’t think it’s something simple as we could see on the pitch the state his elbow was in. We don’t even feel like celebrating after our win as we are going to miss him,” he told a Press conference.
“We are having a good run at the moment but the fact is that Puyol’s loss is a big blow to us. We were counting on him again because he is someone who is very important, but this is inexplicable.
“First he had a knee injury and now this. It makes you very angry and you don’t even want to celebrate the victory.”
