Zaragoza spirit not broken

Jose Mari believes Real Zaragoza remain in good spirits despite a weekend defeat and promises that they will show it in beating Getafe next.

Los Blanquillos fell to a 2-0 defeat at Valencia in Week 6 to make it four defeats for the season already, but midfielder Jose Mari is insistent that confidence has not been dented at La Romareda.

“The group does not break down that easily, the atmosphere is the same and we are now even more eager to try to win the next game,” he declared to reporters today. “We are happy even with just that bit of enthusiasm for the next game.

“It was a tough match, Valencia have a great team, we lacked a little of something, but created chances, and they were fortunate to get two goals from rebounds.

“We hope to continue working and narrow our focus. We are on a good line.”

Narrowing the focus will draw attention to next weekend’s home meeting with Getafe.

“The League is very long, but we want to get the points as soon as possible, we’re going to beat them in our field, perhaps not in a way that is liked, but our job is to win the game.

“Getafe have very dynamic players with quality, but I think that we have a team that is trained to counter their game and at home we can do well and get the three points.”
