Arbeloa denies rift rumours

Alvaro Arbeloa has hit out at press reports claiming there is disharmony in the Real Madrid camp, saying all the players 'get on very well'.

The 29-year-old full-back was in a bullish mood when asked about rumours of unrest at Santiago Bernabeu, and also remarked on the threat posed by Wednesday's Champions League opponents Ajax.

“I imagine those who say [there is a rift] do not know us at all,” he told a press conference. “They do not know what happens inside the dressing room and do not want what's best for us.

“I have a better relationship with some players than with others, but that happens everywhere. We are all very good friends and we all get along well.

“Tomorrow is going to be a tough game. The Coach has explained that they have greatly improved and previous results are not going to be taken into account.”

The Spain international concluded by dismissing speculation that the players will be distracted by the prospect of El Clasico on Sunday.

“We have not spoken about Barcelona. We care only about Ajax. We are very focused and only when we finish will we think about Sunday.”
