Riki rallies Depor

Deportivo La Coruna striker Riki is not overly concerned by the newly promoted outfit's slump in form.

The Galicians survived their first four matches back in La Liga unbeaten but have now lost two on the bounce, 2-0 at home to Sevilla and 5-1 away to Real Madrid last night.

“Until the game against Sevilla we had not suffered any losses,” the forward, who gave Depor a shock lead after 16 minutes at the Bernabeu, commented.

“The players transmit confidence. We want a win to boost morale, because it is clear that a 5-1 hurts.”

The 32-year-old is already looking forward to next weekend's match against Rayo Vallecano.

“We want to return to winning ways as soon as possible. Our intention is to win, and to play well. But Vallecas is a complicated field, Rayo are also coming off two defeats and want a win at their own ground.

“We have to continue competing, knowing that we can beat anyone.”

The former Getafe man has scored three goals in six games this season.
