Eliseu eyes Belgian triumph

Eliseu believes Malaga can take a very important step forward in the group stages of the Champions League with a result away to Anderlecht.

The Costa del Sol side currently top Group C after an opening day win over Zenit St Petersburg and, as Eliseu says, could move a step closer to qualification for the next round with a result in Belgium.

“We are very happy with what we are doing on the field and wish to continue that streak on Wednesday,” he told reporters today.

“The game against Anderlecht is very important as it could provide us with an important step forward in the group stages of the Champions League.

“Afterwards there will be time to talk about the Atletico Madrid game on Sunday. Anderlecht is a very strong team at home and are very experienced in Europe.

“Over there we will have to be careful. They took a point in Milan in the first game, but you have to also think that we are good and that we have a lot of confidence. I think we will be up for the game.”

The winger was one of the 21 players named by Manuel Pellegrini today to make the trip midweek into Europe.
