Granada overcome Celta Vigo 2-1

Granada overcame Celta Vigo 2-1 in Sunday’s lunchtime kick-off at Los Carmenes, all the goals coming in the opening 20 minutes.

Guilherme Siqueira got the hosts off to a flying start from the penalty spot on 11 minutes after Gabriel Torje was brought down in the area by Carlos Bellvis.

Torje then doubled the advantage six minutes later, firing home a superb cross from Siqueira after he had left Hugo Mallo for dead down the left hand side.

However, the Galicians got themselves back into the contest three minutes later when Iago Aspas found some space down the right and drilled home a shot that went under goalkeeper Tono’s body.

The visitors turned up the pressure after the break and Tono had to be on hand to turn aside attempts from Iago Aspas and Park.

Nonetheless, El Grana held on to record their first win of the season and lift themselves out of the bottom three.
