No Granada revenge for Aspas

Celta Vigo striker Iago Aspas says his team will ‘not be looking for revenge’ when they take on play-off conquerors Granada on Sunday.

The Andalusians thwarted Celta’s attempts to return to the top flight two years ago, a tie in which Aspas played a significant role after his flailing boot caused Granada goalkeeper Roberto Fernandez to suffer a facial injury in the first leg at Balaidos.

In the return, the Granada fans vented their wrath towards Aspas, who further enraged them by gesturing for silence after he had converted a penalty and was subsequently sent off for his troubles.

However, the 25-year-old insists there will be no thoughts of revenge at Los Carmenes this weekend.

“For us it is just another match because it is our next one. We all have memories of the other game but we are looking for three points, although there were things that happened that day I did not like.

“Even so, we will not be seeking revenge despite us being the ones that lost.

“I don’t know what kind of reception I’ll get but it doesn’t worry me too much as the important thing is to focus on what happens on the pitch,” he told a Press conference.
