Anquela: Granada need the points

Juan Antonio Anquela has admitted that Granada have to pick up points at home to Celta Vigo this weekend.

The Andalucians are without a win this season and, currently sat in the relegation zone, face a rival in Celta who were anticipated pre-season to be battling with El Grana for survival.

With just two points on the board so far, Anquela is feeling the heat, as he told reporters today.

“We do need the points, we have been saying for some time that we need to add points on the board and we are now required to do so in this game,” he admitted.

“But I won’t put pressure on the players, I am concerned that they will become anxious and that they will be overwhelmed.

“In Barcelona [last weekend] we had the pressure of the opponent beat us, but at home we must be ourselves, this is going to be a different game.”

Due to torrential rain and flooding in the area, Granada were forced to abandon their outdoor training session this morning and retreat inside to the gym. Part of the club’s training facilities were also hit by a burst water pipe today.
