‘Osasuna will win’ this weekend

Joseba Llorente believes Osasuna will win this weekend, but has warned that the necessity to do so should not be over-emphasised.

The Pamplona side are joint bottom of the table with just the one point collected in the League and are still in search of their first three points of the season.

The next opportunity for a win comes this weekend, with the visit of Levante on Sunday.

“If we start emphasising the match then we will make things even more complicated,” warned Llorente, on loan this term from Real Sociedad.

“This is why we have to play as safe as possible at first, fight in every area of the pitch, win every challenge and have the people behind us.

“To win you have to do many things well, not just think that it is down to luck. Mentality doesn’t win games either by itself, but if the head goes then so do the legs.

“If we look at the statistics for Sunday then everything is against us. So we have to be calm and rest our minds for the game against Levante.

“But, we are not afraid of this game either because we are going to win and we are going to move up to four points. That is the mentality I have spoken about before.

“The conclusions from the other games played have already been taken and it is no use looking at the table because we know we only have one point. If you look, you lose self-esteem.”

Llorente has much respect for the weekend’s opponents, who he is available to face after returning from suspension.

“They are a dangerous team. The past year there were jokes made about the players’ ages, but Levante were up there week after week. Now, there are no jokes about Levante.

“I’m looking forward to returning, I am eager to help and contribute. I don’t know if I will be starting, we’ll find out on Sunday, but I am ready.”
