Diop: Levante expect Osasuna fight

Pape Diop has revealed that Levante know fully what to expect when they travel to Osasuna this Sunday evening.

The Valencian side will be facing Jose Luis Mendilibar’s struggling Rojillos, who have just a single point registered to their name after a poor start to the season.

It is a situation that Diop says has been made clear to the players this week by Juan Ignacio Martinez.

“The Coach has told us that this game will be a final for them,” the Senegalese summer signing said today.

“They have just a point, if they lose then everything will be even more difficult for them, they will be going out to the death, but we know what we are going to be up against there.

“I saw the game they played against Barcelona. They played a great game and I know that it is very difficult to play there. We intend to follow our dynamic, we will try to win and to move above the relegation zone.”

Levante head into the fixture looking for what would be their first away win in the League since March.

“At home it is very important to make it a fortress, but you also have to take points off of teams away from home.

“We have to do more damage away from home and be more aggressive on the road. We defend well, but we have to be more aggressive.

“Obafemi Martins will help us a lot, in terms of how the team will play. He will help make us more dangerous in attack.”
