Feghouli: Valencia have the quality

Valencia midfielder Sofiane Feghouli has mounted a spirited defence of Los Che after their underwhelming start to the season.

The Mestalla outfit, who finished third in each of the last three campaigns, are sitting 15th after Sunday's 2-0 loss at Real Mallorca. They have won just won of their five La Liga fixtures under new boss Mauricio Pellegrino and also lost their Champions League opener to Bayern Munich.

“There is no need to be nervous,” Feghouli stated in an interview with AS. “We have quality. This is only week five and we have had a Champions League match also.

“The season is very long and this team has the character and ambition to move up. So far things haven't went our way but I have a lot of confidence and I think that soon we will play a great game.”

The French born Algerian gets a chance to prove his claims when Valencia host fellow strugglers Real Zaragoza this weekend, and he feels that the return of Argentines Ever Banega and Fernando Gago could give them the edge.

“I am very happy to see Banega after seven months out. For the whole team today is a good day. Gago is fine to play on Saturday, and we expect to beat Zaragoza.”
