Trashorras: Rayo will attack Real

Midfielder Roberto Trashorras is another to claim Rayo Vallecano will maintain their attacking ethos against Real Madrid this weekend.

The 31-year-old has added his voice to those of teammates Piti and Tito, insisting the Franjirrojos will go all out for victory against Jose Mourinho's side on Sunday.

“Paco Jemez has instilled into us an attacking style,” he told AS. “And that is against all sides. We must be brave and stay true to our philosophy.

“We are playing at home, so that has to drive us forward. The team who has more possession, will have more chances to win. That idea is giving us not only points, but a picture of how to play.

“We are convinced that we can win. They have lost a lot of points in the league, so cannot afford more setbacks. But we have the smallest budget in the league and a lot to gain.

“Cristiano Ronaldo makes the difference, because you are constantly defending against him, but Angel Di Maria, Mesut Ozil and Karim Benzema are all the best in the world.”

The former Real Madrid B man concluded by remarking on his time with the nine-time European champions, and the technique behind his infamous free kicks.

“I have no specific ritual. I just try to put the ball in the back of the net. I've had a lot of luck.

“When I was at Castilla, I watched how David Beckham practised. And when I was younger, Ronald Koeman, Pep Guardiola and Rivaldo had an influence.

“I spent two great years at Real. I had the opportunity to train with high level players, because I was there during the time of the second Galacticos.”
