‘Draw at Camp Nou? Don’t ask!’

Juan Antonio Anquela says that Granada would love to take a draw home from Barcelona this weekend, but says that the club owe fans a greater effort.

The Andalucians are one of three teams yet to win in La Liga this season and must travel to Camp Nou on Saturday night to try and address that.

Dating back to their first trip to face La Blaugrana at Camp Nou in 1941, Granada have never won away to Barcelona, nor managed to even pick up a single point, from a total of 18 visits.

“Don’t ask me if I would take a draw, half of Spain would take that option too,” Coach Anquela responded to reporters today.

“But, we cannot go on to any field looking for less than three points, I endorse that we have been working hard and well during the week.

“My players must work from the first to the last minute, because if they don’t, it will be very bad against an experienced team.

“There is always a bad match for these teams, though, where they choke. Granada should look to this, because so far we have not provided what fans and this club deserve.”
