‘Valencia’s best yet to come’

Sofiane Feghouli has promised that Valencia will bounce back from a poor game at Bayern Munich to play more attractively and to start winning again.

Los Che lost their opening Champions League group stage match on Wednesday night away to the Germans, which combined with a difficult start in the League, has the pressure mounting on the team to perform.

It is a situation Feghouli recognises and promises will soon be turned around.

“Within a short time, we will see a team that plays more attractively, with more intensity and with fewer losses and errors,” he told reporters today.

“I’m disappointed [by the Bayern result]. We did not start the game playing in a way we wanted. We knew it would be very difficult, they were last year’s runners-up, and we recognise their superiority in many aspects. In the second half, we were more aggressive, but in the first we did not perform as we had expected to.

“Bayern played well, I think that 2-1 was a good result because they were capable of winning 3-0. But, we now forget this match and think towards Sunday and Mallorca, because we have not done well in the League and have to win on the road to retrieve the points dropped to Deportivo at home [in Week 2].

“Everyone has seen this season that we lose many balls in midfield, that is our weak point. We have to work at it and I think that we will become a little more aggressive too.”
