Good CL start imperative says Pedro

Striker Pedro felt it was imperative to get off to a good Champions League start  and stressed the difficulties of facing any opponent.

“This is the Champions League and we know how it is. Every team is top class and every game is difficult. We must take it match by match,” Pedro told a Press conference following Barcelona’s 3-2 victory over Spartak Moscow.

“We suffered a lot. First they drew level and then took the lead. They are a very well organised team that uses the ball well up front with Ari and Emenike, but we are happy with the win and to have got off to a good start.”

Asked about Tito Vilanova’s substitutions that changed the course of the game in Barca’s favour, Pedro believed the key was the introduction of Alexis Sanchez.

“We opened the game up well. Tito brought Alexis on to give us more presence in the area and things went well after that and we mounted a comeback,” said Pedro, who also praised the fans for their ‘support throughout the whole game’.
