Gavilan: ‘We need the perfect game’

Getafe's Jaime Gavilán admits that his side must produce a flawless performance if they are to beat Barcelona this weekend.

Getafe stunned the Catalans when the sides met at the Coliseum Alfonso Pérez last season, and now the men from the Madrid suburbs are aiming to become the first team to take any points from Tito Vilanova's Barça.

“Everything is possible in football,” said the former Valencia midfielder. “It's 11 men against 11…They are superior on paper, but every game is different. Of course we have the intention of taking something from the game, whether it be a win or at least a positive result.

“Barcelona have strengthened well and have players coming back in,” Gavilan added. “It is up to us produce a perfect match and hope that things don't go well for them. Last year we played really well against them and this year we are hoping for more of the same.”

Getafe also shocked Barca's rivals Real Madrid with a 2-1 victory at the Coliseum three weeks ago.
