Spain arriving in Georgia

Spain have flown out this morning to Georgia’s capital Tbilisi, ahead of their Group I fixture against the eastern European side.

La Roja are expected to arrive in Tbilisi just before 2.00pm UK time, after a six-hour journey from Santiago de Compostela in Galicia, ahead of Tuesday’s opening 2014 World Cup qualifier for the team.

Vicente del Bosque’s men will then train at the Boris Paichadze National Stadium, before facing the country on September 11.

Spain has never faced Georgia in a competitive fixture, whilst Temuri Ketsbaia’s side, who sit 86th in the FIFA World Rankings have never qualified for a major tournament.

Georgia currently top Group I alongside France, however, following a narrow victory over Belarus on Friday.
