Attacker Pedro called the 5-0 win over Georgia in Pontevedra ideal preparation for Tuesday’s World Cup qualifier in Georgia.
The Barcelona man netted twice in a comfortable victory for Vicente Del Bosque’s men and Pedro, who has had a terrific start to the season, believes it was a perfect performance to take into the first qualifier.
“We must thank everyone for this win. It was ideal preparation for us, the condition of the pitch, the supporters, the game…and we also played a great match and scored two quick goals. It was very complete game,” the Tenerife-born player told El Larguero.
“For my goals I have to thank Santi Cazorla and then David Silva for the passes that left me one-on-one with the goalkeeper, but I’m happy with my contribution and the win.”
However, he did sound a note of caution before the trip to Georgia.
“We can’t afford to fail in the qualifier. It’s going to be difficult but we can’t let any points escape us,” he warned.
