Barcelona midfielder Cesc Fabregas has backtracked on quotes claiming there is a ‘mini-campaign’ in the media against him.
Fabregas had earlier today been quoted as claiming there was a smear campaign against him for criticism of his performances in the Blaugrana jersey so far this season.
It is one of several interviews the player has given this week in reaction to criticism of his poor start to the season.
“I would like to avoid any misunderstandings. I feel well, very happy with the club,” prefaced the 25-year-old via his official Twitter account.
“I feel extremely supported by fans and the team. I just think about working and giving the best for the club and myself.”
