Spain top FIFA rankings

Spain have retained their spot at the top of the FIFA world rankings, leading second place Germany by 180 points.

Vicente Del Bosque's side earned 12 more points from the list that was published in August, having beaten Puerto Rico in a friendly last month.

England have kept third place having beaten Italy in Switzerland last time out, with the Azzurri slipping down to sixth.

Portugal and Uruguay have swapped positions – the Seleccao moving up to fourth in place of Oscar Tabarez's team.

The remainder of the top ten sees Argentina, Netherlands, Croatia and Denmark in seventh, eighth, ninth and 10th respectively.

Whilst lower down the order, Ivory Coast are the only African team in the top 20 in 14th, with Mexico propping up the list, replacing the Swiss in 20th.
