Vilanova losing 21 internationals

Barcelona will lose 21 players senior and B team players for international duty next week following tonight’s game with Valencia.

Tito Vilanova will be without nine Spanish internationals for the next fortnight, who have been called up to Vicente del Bosque’s latest squad.

Victor Valdes, Gerard Pique, Jordi Alba, Sergio Busquets, Cesc Fabregas, Xavi Hernandez, Andres Iniesta, Pedro Rodriguez and David Villa are all in the selection for games with Saudi Arabia and Georgia.

Additionally Lionel Messi and Javier Mascherano for Argentina, Dani Alves and Adriano for Brazil, Alexis Sanchez for Chile and Alexandre Song for Cameroon will travel out for respective international matches.

Meanwhile, six B team regulars on the verge of the senior squad are also involved with Spain’s Under-21 team during the break.

Cristian Tello, Martin Montoya, Sergi Roberto, Gerard Deulofeu, Marc Bartra, Carles Planas have also all been called up by Julen Lopetegui for 2013 European Under-21 Championship qualifiers against Switzerland and Croatia.
