Malaga could face Weligton blow

Malaga could be without central defender Weligton if tests on a nose injury suffered against Real Zaragoza show it is broken.

The Brazilian was injured in a clash with teammate Martin Demichelis during the first half of the 1-0 victory at La Romareda, but carried on to finish the game after treatment.

However, AS reports that the experienced 33-year-old, who has been with the club four years since his signing form Swiss outfit Grasshoppers, may require surgery and would be a major doubt for the next game with Levante at La Rosaleda.

Manuel Pellegrini’s men have been given two days off before returning to training this week minus four of their international players.

Ignacio Monreal and Isco have been called up for the full Spanish national and Under-21 teams respectively, while Cameroon goalkeeper Carlos Kameni and recent addition Roque Santa Cruz, who has been selected by Paraguay, will also be absent.
