Anquela glad Real out the way

Jose Antonio Anquela admits that Granada are happy to have gotten visiting Real Madrid out of the way early in the season.

The Andalucians were defeated 3-0 in a game that the home side struggled to build momentum in. It was, according to Anquela, in part down to his side’s good start.

“We managed things pretty well at Madrid, but in the second half they made changes and in came Di Maria, Ozil and Higuain,” he reflected afterwards.

“Last year here was a home win every week, but today, however, in some phases we were around them, but as soon as the second goal went in, we were out.

“Madrid are much better than us, they are a great team that had to win and the best thing is that we don’t have to return to the Bernabeu.

“You have to try to get points at every ground, but it is very complicated here. I’m happy with how we performed, we were organised, even if we lacked something.”
