Cobeno rejoins Rayo Vallecano

Goalkeeper David Cobeno has returned to Rayo Vallecano just two months after announcing he was leaving the club, report AS.

The 30-year-old opted against renewing his contract with the side from the Madrid neighbourhood of Vallecas at the end of the 2011/12 season, and signed for Romanian outfit Vaslui.

Cobeno apparently failed to adapt to his new team though, and quickly made it clear to Rayo that he was keen on a return to the Campo de Futbol de Vallecas.

The former Sevilla shot stopper initially joined the Franjirrojos in 2008 when they were in Spain's second division and helped them earn promotion to La Liga in 2010/11. The club were happy to welcome him back to the fold and add him to Dani Giménez, Rubén Martínez and Ismael Gil, the 'keepers already at Coach Paco Jemez's disposal.

Rayo have also confirmed the signing of Argentine midfielder Franco Vazquez on loan from Palermo, with the player taking part in his first training session with the team this morning.
