Atletico Madrid boss Diego Simeone felt Levante made it difficult for his team in the 1-1 draw at the Ciutat de Valencia.
Arda Turan rescued a point for Los Rojiblancos midway through the first half after Nabil El Zhar had put the home side ahead early on, yet despite dominating possession Simeone’s men found chances hard to come by.
“It was a game where we had a lot of the ball against a team that were good defensively and prepared to play on the counter-attack.
”In that sense Levante were very good,” the Argentine told Atletico’s official website.
The result was a first-ever draw between the sides in Valencia and Simeone recognised the effort put in by his players to have come away with a point.
“We were looking for another goal in any way we could and with different alternatives, such Oliver coming on as a substitute, Raul [Garcia] moving inside and Kader giving us more depth out wide to try and break their defence.
“However, we could not make any clear-cut chances due to the amount of people they had behind the ball.
“They made it very difficult for us,” he added.
