Levante boss Juan Ignacio Martinez said his side’s 1-1 draw with Atletico Madrid was a fair result.
The visitors had most of the possession at the Ciutat de Valencia yet could not convert that into opportunities and Martinez felt Levante were worth at least a draw.
“It was a very good game for us and a fair result considering how both teams played,” he told a Press conference.
“It’s true they had a lot of the ball but neither did they have any chances to score.”
The former Cartagena and Albacete Coach believed his players did an effective job in containing the prolific Radamel Falcao and the rest of Atletico’s forwards.
“They were very well marked by our players and that was down to the effort they put in.
“We got ourselves ahead but it is difficult to maintain it against a great opponent.
“In our case we are team shaped by how we did last season, but also one still under construction.”
With respect to the opinion of Atletico boss Diego Simeone, who praised Levante, Martinez said he has a selection of players who never give up.
“It’s true that we are patient and get men behind the ball, yet we have players who can interpret exactly what we want,” he said.
