Milan admit defeat for Kaka

Milan have reportedly closed negotiations with Real Madrid for Brazilian playmaker Ricky Kaka, via email.

The Gazzetta dello Sport allege that the Rossoneri’s Vice-President Adriano Galliani emailed Real President Florentino Perez this week to thank him for negotiations held in the US earlier this month for Kaka.

The No 8 has been linked with a move away from the Bernabeu, but former club Milan could not agree terms of a deal with Perez.

The Italians were keen for an initial loan deal, whilst the Spaniards pushed back for a permanent switch only, with tax disadvantages on the player’s wage thought to be a contributing factor to Real’s reluctance on a loan.

Galliani has reportedly made clear in his internet correspondence to Perez that Milan are now out of negotiations for the 30-year-old, who has otherwise been linked with LA Galaxy.

Marca, who conversely suggest that the Italians have not given up, report today that Madrid have now firmed their position on Kaka’s valuation, setting a €20m price on his head.
