Albiol: Real can win the lot

Real Madrid defender Raul Albiol expects Los Blancos to win every competition they enter this season.

The 26-year-old, who has been at the Santiago Bernabeu three years since his move from Valencia, has recently penned a contract renewal with the Spanish champions that will keep him at the club until 2017.

“To sign a new deal at somewhere you are happy is always a source of joy and I am looking forward to continuing working here,” he said in an interview with club sponsors bwin.

A new season brings new expectations but Albiol is firm in his conviction that Real will be trying to win all the trophies on offer.

“We expect to be fighting for every title and, of course, winning them all.

“The team is committed and will fight in every match like we did last season. We are ready.”

Jose Mourinho’s men face Valencia in the opening game of the 2012-13 campaign at the Santiago Bernabeu on Sunday and Albiol is wary of the threat posed by his former team.

“Valencia always play well at the Bernabeu. I imagine they will also be very motivated as it is the first game of the new season and they will be playing against us.

“But I think that if we are focused and defend well then we have a great chance of winning.”

“We hope we can get the three points because it’s very important to win the first match, even more so at home.”
