Atletico Madrid’s search for a right-hand sided player is set to lead them back to Barcelona’s Cristian Tello.
Los Rojiblancos have already made an enquiry for the 20-year-old this summer and have been further encouraged by Tello not having been handed a shirt number in Tito Vilanova’s squad for next season.
AS reports that Tello does not figure in Vilanova’s immediate plans and that Atleti director of football Jose Luis Caminero plans to speak with Barca counterpart Andoni Zubizarreta in mid-August.
Another name to surface on Atleti boss Diego Simeone’s list is former Barca wide man Ricardo Quaresma, 28, who almost joined Los Colchoneros in 2010 when he was with Inter but opted for Besiktas instead.
However, the Portuguese is now understood to want to leave Turkey and a move to the Vicente Calderon could appeal, especially since his agent is Jorge Mendes who has a particularly good relationship with the Madrid club.
