Albanians deny Malaga deal

Albanian company Taci Oil have denied they have any intention of buying Malaga according to the EFE agency.

The agency cites a director of the company, who did not wish to be identified, as saying reports of any interest in the Andalusian club were news to him.

“I read the news in the Press and I was surprised because we have not had, nor have any intention of, buying Malaga,” he said.

According to several newspapers in Malaga, negotiations for the sale of the club have intensified since the arrival on the Costa del Sol of Moayad Shatat, an aide of club owner Sheikh Abdullah Bin Nasser Al-Thani [pictured].

The Taci Oil group is led by tycoon Rezart Taci, 41, who is understood to have bought a majority stake in Italian club Bologna three years ago and is also involved in sponsoring Milan.

In 2010 Tirana-born Taci paid Real Madrid €2.5m to play a friendly match in the Albanian capital against local team Gramozi Erseke.
