Valencia want midfielders Fernando Gago and Sergio Canales from Real Madrid, according to a report in Superdeporte.
Los Blancos have been looking to unload Gago since his return from a loan spell at Roma last season, whilst Canales spent a season-long loan with Valencia last term but was reduced to just 11 La Liga appearances after being stretchered off with a knee injury during a 1-1 draw with Athletic Bilbao last October.
It is believed Los Che have lodged an €8m offer for both players after being frustrated in their attempts to sign Bruno Soriano from Villarreal, although Gago’s wage demands could prove an obstacle to any move.
Even so, the Argentine international would look favourably upon a chance to remain in Spain with Valencia able to offer him Champions League football next season, particularly since his contract at the Santiago Bernabeu expires in June 2013.
The 26-year-old joined Real Madrid in a €20.5m deal from Boca Juniors in January 2007 and has made 92 League appearances, scoring one goal.
